Lake victoria Island

An island within the seemingly endless serenity and unspoilt beauty of Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake, is the perfect spot for an idyllic getaway. Nsonga Island provides the ideal location, and with sensitive development of a tourist village will be a valuable addition to Uganda's repertoire of top tourism destinations.

Nsonga Island is on Lake Victoria, just 6 miles from Entebbe (first missionary landing point) in Uganda. It is visible from the mainland and only takes twenty minutes to get there in a canoe from the Ugandan shore, but a speedboat is recommended. This island is a whopping 139 acres of natural vegetation, surrounded by white sandy beaches. It's uninhabited and has no permanent buildings. We are planning to make an excellent site for a tourist village with a hotel, cabins, docks, shopping malls, conference rooms, honeymoon suites, campsites or very private holiday homes.

Those who love bird watching, fishing and boating will love this island. Like most of the areas in this lake region, the weather is exceptionally good. The sun is up promptly at 7:00 AM and it's hot most of the day with cool breezes coming in from the lake. The people of Uganda have always been known to be very friendly and hospitable. This is part of the reason why many tourists are tempted to throw away their return tickets!

Our company is registered in Uganda in sep. 2009 as Lake Victoria Islands Free Zone Ltd. The island is covering 139 acres, the highest point on the island, is 1178m above sea level. We have plans to construct a new Luxury, unique and high-end Health Spa and Retreat on a very prime location within the Island.
